BEFORE TREATMENT On
Autism I
don't want to have autism anymore. I
want to be blind or deaf. You don't
even know when I have autism. I
would rather be blind or deaf, and then you could help me to find my way. Mom, why didn't you tell God not to give
me autism before I was born. Why
didn't you tell God to make me blind or deaf?
I couldn't even tell you that, because I wasn't even born.
What I wanted was a different disability. Why can't I have a different disability?
I did not want to be born with autism! I
wanted to be born blind. Just
because you're blind doesn't mean you can't do great things.
It's not fair. I want to be
blind. Being blind means you can't
see well, but it doesn't mean you can't do great things. All
God does is randomly pick how people are born.
That's the trouble with random, you never know which way something will
happen. Even though people are born blind, they only bump into things
once in every ten paces. It
can be very difficult for God to choose randomly who has a disability.
It can be a very hard balancing act.
You don't have to be able to see well because your physical being can
mimic the movements of your body. Being
autistic is boring, because everything in you body works.
You need to keep every inch of you body.
It's boring! I'm born with
something that matters. I suppose
you think autism is the best thing ever created in the world because it turns
everything into a proper reception.
